Terms of use ​

Soltide is published by bypop.dev ("we"). By using the Soltide app you agree to these terms. Nothing in them limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

The licence ​

Soltide is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add what's specific to Soltide. Where they differ, the Standard EULA applies to the licence itself.

General wellness, not medical advice ​

Soltide offers general wellness information, not medical advice. It doesn't diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it isn't a medical device.

  • Check with a doctor first if you have bipolar disorder, an eye or retinal condition, take medicines that make you sensitive to light, or have had skin cancer — before changing your light routine or using a bright light lamp.
  • Never look directly at the sun.
  • When UV is 3 or more, seek shade, cover up, wear sunglasses and use SPF 30+. Sunscreen isn't a reason to stay out longer. Soltide never sets tanning goals.
  • For vitamin D, ask a doctor or pharmacist. Soltide doesn't calculate doses.

Estimates, not measurements ​

Sun times are calculated; light levels and UV are estimates from the sun's height and the weather forecast, for open ground. What reaches your eyes is usually lower, and forecasts can be wrong. The 30-minute light goal is a habit target Soltide chose, not a clinical dose. Use your own judgement about weather, traffic and your surroundings when you go outside.

Weather data is provided by Apple Weather. Light and UV estimates are calculated by Soltide from that data.

Soltide Pro ​

  • Soltide Pro is a one-time in-app purchase — not a subscription. It's sold by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms, and shared with your family through Family Sharing.
  • Use Restore Purchase in the Pro screen or Settings to unlock it on another device with the same Apple Account.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Features are described on this website and in the app. We may improve and change features over time; safety information is always free.

Fair use ​

Please don't reverse-engineer or resell the app, or misuse it.

Liability ​

We build Soltide carefully, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, or for decisions you make based on estimates in the app. This doesn't limit liability that can't be limited by law — for example for intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence — or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes ​

We may update these terms, for example when the app changes. The new version will be published here with a new date; significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
